Bharat Shakti: India is going to do something big in Pokhran
India’s Showcase of Indigenous Weapons at Pokhran under Bharat Shakti Exercise
After the successful test of Mission Divine Weapon, Bharat Shakti: India is going to do something big in Pokhran. Recently, Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asim Munir, has said that Pakistan is fully prepared. Prime Minister Modi will visit Pokhran, and India will showcase its indigenous weapons prowess to the world, while Pakistan is also planning a response. Pokhran is one of the most important sites from India’s defense perspective, where India has conducted underground nuclear tests twice. It’s so important from a defense perspective that defense analysts worldwide know about Pokhran, and they know that whenever India takes a significant defense step, the focal point will be Pokhran. It’s not just history; it’s a legacy, and that’s why India is starting its power exercise in Pokhran today. A related video has also been posted by the Indian Army. Pakistan is planning some response to this. India’s power exercise will focus more on indigenous weapons like Tejash, K9 Vajra, Pinaka rockets rather than Rafale, Sukhoi, and other fighter jets. Many countries interested in India’s weapons will properly follow this war exercise. One thing I am very excited about is how artificial intelligence platforms, AI-based platforms of the Indian Air Force, will be displayed in this war exercise.
Pakistan Responds to India’s Pokhran Power Display with Shamsher Sahara War Exercise
In response, Pakistan, seeing India conducting such a massive war exercise close to the Pakistan border, has automatically said that they are fully prepared. Because here, they are afraid that the Indian Army is gathering in one place, the Air Force is gathering, and the Navy is ready. So Pakistan has done two things: firstly, their Army Chief said they are fully prepared, and secondly, Pakistan conducted its own war exercise called Shamsher Sahara near the India border. In this war exercise, Pakistan claims that they will showcase their advanced capabilities, although the videos show an open field with blasts, but they haven’t showcased the advanced features military should possess. However, the location of this war exercise is quite important. Rahim Khan, where they conducted this war exercise, is very close to Pokhran, where the Pakistani military is stationed. The reality is that this war exercise is not focused on Pakistan. The main focus here is to show the world India’s defense hardware. And with this, we are practicing war.
India’s Defense Showcase: A Message of Strength and Growing Export Potential
Here’s a look at the state-of-the-art defense hardware; the offshoots have been successful so far. We want to send this message to countries worldwide. Have you heard of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute? If not, let me tell you, Sweden, a very famous country in Europe, has its capital Stockholm. Stockholm has a very important research institute that publishes reports on the military from time to time. Recently, just 17 hours ago, they released a proper report on which country is exporting how much defense, and in this report, India is still shown as the top importer. In this report, various countries’ exports are mentioned; it’s being said that the U.S. exports have increased by 17%. From 2014 to 2018, if we compare the data to what American defense companies are enjoying worldwide, France has also significantly increased its defense exports because you know there has been a lot of conflict in Europe. Besides, Russia’s exports have dropped by 53%, a massive fall due to sanctions. Here, the impact of sanctions is seen, and if we talk about buyers, it’s clearly written that the largest share of arms transfers goes to Asia; the world’s largest arms purchases are being made in Asia. Even now, India remains the top arms importer, followed by Saudi Arabia, then many African countries. Now, let’s look at India’s defense exports; they have reached 1 lakh crore and 16000 crores respectively in 2023. For the very first time, we are saving millions, actually billions of dollars in our domestic requirements, and we are also exporting. But still, we need to focus more on increasing exports. If we talk about Tejash, for example, no proper deal has been finalized yet. We heard reports that the Philippines might purchase Tejash or some South American country might purchase it, but the deal hasn’t been finalized yet. And when the deal for Tejash is finalized, you will see a huge uptick in India’s defense exports. The hope is that this war exercise will send a strong message to the world. This is India’s defense hardware, and this is its power. This is Bharat Shakti Exercise.
